At the AGM on Tuesday 30th November, the term of office for Chris Carroll as President of Bedfordshire County Archery Association came to an end and Sue Harper was elected as the new President. Sue had this to say about Chris Carroll:
The first thing that I feel that I must do as your new County President is to pay tribute to the sterling work that Chris, our retiring President, has done on behalf of the County.
In the 14 or so years that I have known him he has served on the County Committee in one capacity or another, from Secretary to Treasurer, and no doubt many other posts in between; he has represented the County at Region and at National meetings and he has been an elected member of the GNAS Council. His help and advice was invaluable to us when we started Ouse Valley Archers.
His knowledge of all things archery from procedures to fine tuning equipment is phenomenal. Amongst his busy life of meetings he has still found time to shoot to good standard, representing the county on many an occasions. These days he shoots at a more leisurely pace but can be seen at most of the County shoots acting as our unofficial photographer.
His is going to be a very hard act to follow, and I shall need very big feet to fill his shoes. Despite my avowed habit of not being able to keep my mouth shut I am a fairly good listener and if any of you have an issue that you would like to bring to me I will listen and do my best to help.
Sue Harper
And as if his contribution needed any emphasis, we have a whole new gallery of pictures that Chris took at the County Field Championships on show in the image gallery. Click on the link to view them.
